Refund Policy

At KD Custom Builds, we stand behind our workmanship. This policy outlines how payments, cancellations, and workmanship issues are handled. Full terms for any specific project are governed by your signed construction contract, which takes precedence over this general policy.

1. Deposits Deposits secure your project on our schedule and may be used to order materials or reserve subcontractor time. Deposits are non-refundable once a project has been scheduled, once materials have been ordered on your behalf, or once work has commenced — whichever comes first.

2. Progress Payments Payments tied to completed project milestones (per your contract's payment schedule) are non-refundable once that phase of work has been completed and accepted.

3. Cancellations If you cancel a project before work begins, any costs already incurred by KD Custom Builds (materials ordered, permits pulled, subcontractors scheduled) will be deducted from your deposit before any remaining balance is returned.

4. Workmanship Warranty Rather than issuing refunds for completed work, KD Custom Builds provides a 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of project completion. If a defect is found to result from faulty workmanship, we will repair or correct the issue at no additional cost.

This warranty covers our labor and workmanship only. It does not extend or replace any separate statute of limitations or statute of repose that may apply under Colorado law, nor does it replace manufacturer warranties on materials, fixtures, or appliances.

5. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage from improper maintenance, misuse, or acts of nature

  • Issues caused by work performed by other contractors after project completion

  • Materials covered under a separate manufacturer's warranty (e.g., appliances, windows)

6. Disputes If you believe an issue is the result of our negligence or workmanship error, contact us at (303) 718-0138 or info@kdcustombuilds.com to schedule an inspection. If confirmed, we will remedy the issue under the warranty above. Refunds (in place of repair) are considered only in cases where a defect cannot reasonably be corrected.
